PROTOTYPE MATERIALS

Vacuum Casting

M&J's partner Silicone Molding service facilitates access to high quality, low volume reproductions of prototypes in a variety of polyurethane resins.

These may be textured, polished and/or colored according to customer requirements. This method provides prototypes which resemble the final product not only in shape, but also in appearance and feel, so providing for visual as well as practical appraisal. In turn, these prototypes can prove extremely valuable for early market testing.

Materials available include fire retardant prototypes, cast in UL94V0 FR25 rated polyurethane, and semi-rigid prototypes which emulate the properties of polypropylene. The latter is particularly suited to use for prototypes of automotive trim and casings for hand tools.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) service enables the supply of tough, durable prototypes. Built in Duraform polyamide, SLS prototypes are particularly suited to functional testing in rigorous environments including high temperatures.

M&J Technologies prototyping capacity via its partners is extensive, with the emphasis on accuracy and rapid turnaround.

Stereo lithography (SLA)

M&J's preferred SLA supplier runs a fleet of 19 Stereo lithography machines (4 x SLA 250, 3 x SLA 500, 4 x SLA 7000), providing our customers with a fast turnaround and reliability. Typically, SLA prototypes are delivered from Thailand to the United States within 10 days from the supply of customers' design data. A wide range of SL resins are available, ranging from Premium rigid, ABS simulant, PP simulant and High Clarity to name but a few. A range of surface finishes are offered, along with a paint and texturing service. Resins available include:

We aim to offer a rapid turnaround prototype service: SLA & SLS (10 days); Silicone Molds (14 days), PCB (10 days); PCBA 18 days - all times to USA.
